Halloween Saturday

Halloween Satuday began early at one of my JTE's houses, Mrs. Sagara. She invited me to a party she was throwing for her private students. I made some pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies that were a huge hit. After the party Mrs. Sagara fixed lunch for her husband, son, and me. The poor son was forced to speak broken English to me all day. I felt bad for him, but he was hanging in there pretty well. We watched some weird movie about spiders and then she took me back home. Her husband was absolutely lovely, too. One of his hobbies is cleaning. Between conversations he would go off to vacuum a part of the house. Ha, definitely NOT your typical Japanese man. Lucky her!
After my day at the Sagara's, I headed to Shimonoseki to get dressed. We headed to Kokura for some fun times and to hear Emily sing at Fujyama Mama's.

The two guys on the right were really lovely. They kept buying us drinks and seemed only interested in practicing their English. The one on the far right is a hairdresser in Nishi Kokura. If we make it there ever, he will give free haircuts. His dream is go move to Australia and open his own hair salon. So he wants to practice cutting foreign hair and English.
Wow, what a facial expression, Jonathan!
